Pinetown is situated about 20km inland from Durban and about 60km from Pietermaritzburg. The greater Pinetown area, incorporating New Germany and Westmead, offers a variety of spaces for all business types. Pinetown is easily accessible from all directions due to the convergence of major routes such as the N3, M1, M7, M13 and M19.

Central Pinetown offers a range of good-value office space. Although the traffic congestion in the area has been an inconvenience for last few years, the roadworks and infrastructure upgrades are now nearing completion.

Pinetown’s Hill Street precinct is a bustling hive of commerce and activity. The location of a large taxi rank in the area means that foot-traffic is always in abundance and as a result many large national retailers have set up shop in the area. In addition to the large retailers there is also a strong informal trade along the streets and sidewalks in the area.

Westmead and Mahogany Ridge are highly sought-after locations for many businesses, particularly those involved in warehousing and distribution (and related fields such as packaging) due its proximity to the arterial routes and the toll gate. A range of space is available to lease in the area, from large distribution warehouses, to smaller industrial mini-factories and business units.

New Germany is located just to the north of central Pinetown and is a predominantly industrial area with a number of industrial parks offering factory and warehousing space to lease.
